I know this is very beat up but I thought I might have seen something going on with some of the rev. devices. What do you guys think?

Top of STATES look like MD and possible split plating. Over "AMERI" looks interesting but is probably staining or plating as well.

Agree with Pete. I suggest using a variety listing like wexler's die varieties, variety vista, or coppercoins for reference while you search.

I use coppercoins and some other sites seem like a mess. still being so new to the hobby(6 mo) I struggle attributing circulated coins, sorry guys. I'm beginning to be able to ID MD most of the time quickly. I still seem find examples of MD coins that show very similar doubling patterns as known errors. that's why I started bringing some of my questions here to let y'all slap me with the truth, is that not what this is for or am I supposed to be somewhere elseo|javascript:insertsmilie('')|

You are in the right place. Hang in there.

I've been back to collecting for 7 years now and even though the internet makes it much easier to learn, I'm still wondering about some myself from time to time. (It is getting easier to actually see the MD, plating issues, and Die Deterioration and differentiate from real varieties.)
