There are a number of articles from Whitman Publishing saying that the CPG 6th edition volume 2 will be released this year.
There are a few saying September/August but I'm not sure if that's from Whitman or just speculation.
Edit: A few bookstore chain websites (Books-a-Million is the one I saw) have the preorder ship date as September 22nd.

I've heard rumors only, but late August was for some early pre-releases followed by a mid to late Setember release into the mainstream channels.

I think each edition always is worth upgrading as many new varieties are discovered and pricing is updated. I sold my two volumes for over $300 on ebay last month, and have the new editions on order. That paid for the new books plus some other books from Kolbe & Fanning! Time to sell is now or last couple of months before word is out the new ones are almost ready. People are paying some insane amounts for the 6th and 5th editions. Even the 4th edition is still pretty high, the 3rd is too old to bring much of any premium price. It's like the bullion market you got to be ready to take advantage of it.  On Amazon the 6th edition is selling for $400+ for the first volume - that's just nuts! I had a pre-order for the new book with Barnes and Noble and they cancelled my pre-order last week.
I just got off the phone with a Customer Service Rep at WHITMAN Publishing.
The Cherry-Pickers Guide 6th Edition Volume 2 has been pushed back to DECEMBER 2020.
I also asked about placing a PRE-ORDER today and was politely told:
NO PRE-ORDERS are being accepted at this time, please check back in December.
That's the latest on this NEW BOOK.

I second that jbuck! Been wanting to get a copy and now have to wait again. I just checked my Amazon account, and it still have it pending, so at least I hope by sometime this year will get it? Edited by macmercury
