Hi,

Try this;

Goggle,

"Obv. Carolvs fridericvs gavss nat mdcclxxvii aprxxx ob mdccclv feb xxiii, rev. Academiae svae georgiae avgvstae decori aeternoGeorgivs VRex hannoverae mathematicorvm principi"

and that should lead you to it's current location, I believe, in the collection of "Royal Museums Greenwich", UK, Object Id: MEC2666.

Good Luck.

Hi,

I just noticed in the provenance their is a heading called "PARTS". Did your medallion have a case with it?

Gincoin43 - good point, but optics, or photographs can be deceiving.

The medal did not have a case, it was in a brown felt pouch. I saw that museum posting at the beginning of my search but that metal looks to be in MUCH better shape than the one I'm looking for, so I figured it wasn't the same one. But THANKS for looking out!!! I'm hitting some dead ends lately with auction houses and collectors so any leads are worth checking into!
