Do you think most auction houses send the majority of their mid range value coins off to CAC for the sticker? I thinking of coins valued $250-2500

no , personally I don't, the up side is huge, but the down side is just as big..most mid range coins are not sent as there is little upside. there is still cherry picking happening, but it is less, than it was 20 years ago.

I would not say they send the majority in that price range. Major auction houses have expert numismatists on staff that can pick and choose what to send to CAC based on experience. Particularly under $1,000 there are likely many pieces not worth sending in IMO.
