Hey guys once again I need help determining if this is an error or damage. I truly appreciate all the great advice you all give me when answering my numerous questions!!

Are you asking about that dark gray blob around the date and mintmark? I believe that is some sort of chemical or environmental stain. Whether it can be removed or not is of no consequence as it doesn't really matter. This stain is considered damage and cannot be connected to any mint error. You can safely spend this nickel.

Yes, I originally thought the grey "blob" was chemical damage but then I noticed the vertical grooves or lines that seemed to run behind the mint mark so I wasn't certain. As for the photography, thanks I'm still learning so I appreciate the compliment!

When the original finish is on the coin (BU) you won't see the rolling lines. But when that goes away, then you see it a lot more. It was always there, but just stands out more. They are called rolling lines. If you look at the opposite side, they will be going in the same direction.
