I need a little help from my friend's. At first I thought cool pretty cool clash on obverse and reverse. Obv. Next to #9 is vertical portion from the roof to the cornice on left side of Memorial bld. Behind R-LIBERTY part of cornice/roof above Bay 11. Above and under IN GOD thought maybe feeder fingers but not quite sure. Rev. Thought cool clash in Bay 7,8 and above roof. But is it backwards and upside down? . I know I'm confused (and) confusing most the time. Well here we go.

It even happens on nice coins as well:

Take a look at the coin clicking on the images on the right to see the clash. (just like your coin)

Hope you don't mind (coop) I'm using your overlay to show what I think how mine is different. The arrows I put on yours points to the beard areas. See the tip of beard on regular overlay points toward column 10 and the bottom of the chin is up towards the top of Bay 8.
Now on my coin the tip of beard pointing towards column 7 and the bottom of the chin is down toward the bottom of Bay 8. I made an overlay showing coin reversed and 160 turn? . Also above the roof on the right side. Could that be part of his cheek? On the front of building could that be the fold next to his mouth? or am I reading/imagination kicking in?Dah

Mint tried to aggressively polish the die but the traces are still there.

It is a mis-aligned die clash. What you are seeing at the top of bay 7 and 8, is the area bounded by the coat, neck, and bottom edge of the jaw which would normally be at the top of bays 8 and 9. So if you take Coop's right hand overlay in his last picture you would shift the Lincoln image toward 9:00 about one bay and down slightly. That is how much the dies were offset when they clashed.
