Kushanshah Pillar of the Community United States 1554 Posts	Posted 06/26/2020 6:37 pm Yes, it's a coin. Probably 'Abbasid or at least of that era. The central legends are the Kalima. The mint and date, if any, would be in the margins. Report this Post to the Staff

The coins do mimic often the Byzantine coinage but I really should have downloaded the image, lightened it up, and perhaps I would have seen my error. Thanks for correcting my error Kushanshah! Oak Valued Member Brazil 117 Posts	Posted 09/12/2020 11:25 am I didn't get an accurate ID. But, I found coins of this type in the Andalusian Taifas. Perhaps due to the type of border it is possible to correctly identify the taifa, but I have not found the reference material. Only someone specializing in this type. Report this Post to the Staff
