On the heritage website under the make an offer info they state "Heritage will not counteroffer or play you off against another buyer -- we will either pass or play within three business days". WRONG! They counteroffer, so the above statement is an outright lie. Shady business practices when you don't abide by your own stated rules. I'm not going to bother to use this feature again and probably not even bid in their auctions anymore. Just a thing I have against doing business with people that are dishonest.

Thank you for your offer of $1,890 on the xxxx. The lowest we can do on this coin is $1,975. Please let me know if you are interested at that amount.

Heritage has always been a little too "snooty" for me. Never liked dealing with them. Almost as bad as a car dealer.

https://coins.ha.com/c/ref/web-tips...16#makeOffer -- "The page will list the item and the suggested offer range. ... Heritage will accept the highest offer in this price range received in the three business days (or less) after the first offer is received. Ties always go to the first offer. Heritage will not counteroffer or play you off against another buyer -- we will either pass or play within three business days. Offers below the recommended range will automatically be rejected."

So they rejected your offer because it was outside the range. That's not a counter-offer, that's telling you what the range is. I don't see the problem here. I also don't see the range on the item page like they say, but do you really expect them to accept *any* offer as long as they don't get any others in the three-day period?

No. You know what the range is when you click the button and my offer was within that range. Everything I said in my original post is 100% accurate. Heritage has no credibility. This is not the first time they countered an offer I made within their range.

Have you asked them why they are counter offering when they say they won't do that? Were you offering on something in their inventory or something from the auction archives? If it is from the archive it's not Heritage countering it is prossibly the coins owner and Heritage is passing it along. The coins owner isn't bound to Heritage's no counter rule.
