Have not seen one like this before. I am so horrible at identify DDRs and DDOs. Not seeing this variety anywhere. I have had the coin for awhile but never really looked it in detail as I just saved it because if was in really nice condition and I like the finger print on the reverse.

Kinda looks like split copper plating and a nasty fingerprint on the reverse. I see you are coming up on 100 posts, contest time?

Thanks John. I have been playing the Guess the Price contest for a couple of weeks now. Or is there another one I might be missing out on?

After the split happens, it allows air to work on the zinc and the exposed area can rise.

Am I reading this right? You LIKE the fingerprint? You must have a field day when you open a roll of cents!

Oh boy I sure do love fingerprints. Adds a very nice texture and grainy feeling to the coin. Perfect for slabbing too!

I meant that you hold a contest to celebrate your 100 post milestone.

Thanks Coop and John I did not even think about that. I usually see the ugly Zinc oxidation flowering stuff but not always. I am assuming it would depend on the environment.

, I do actually. This one was a little more smudged than I like.

The heart likes what the heart likes. I also love the "Toned" cents 89 to 98.

Hey I love the toned cents as well, big fan actually. Trying to start up a collection of slabbed toned cents. So you aren't alone with the toning. However, the fingerprints, you might be haha

Haha good one Dave!

I was CRHing today and all I kept getting were 2020 Shield Cents and it was driving me insane. So I decided to press my thumb all over the coin and then just toss it.

Not a very good hunt today haha.

Same, very true it is very annoying and just plain boring sometimes. Yep that's right! If I don't find AT LEAST one single DDO, I'm going to flip my table.

After the first 5 rolls if you find nothing, you will find nothing different except error coins. (one of a kind errors)
