I was wondering if anyone could tell me if my half dollar was one of the 1964 proof errors ? I think the w is doubled as well as the I in Liberty seems to missing a piece on bottom left ? Just want a second opinion if possible . I accidently posted this on a poll earlier sorry.

If the left edge of the 'B' on Liberty is what your looking at, that is Machine Doubling. Not a doubled die.

My first thought was, "that doesn't look like a proof." But then I realised it was photographed through the plastic of a 2x2. In the future, please remove your coins from any holders so we can get a good look at the surfaces. Thanks.

I agree with coop, you half has maching doubling, no doubled die.

to the CCF!

I was talking about the W in we. As well as the missing part of the I. Also if you Read up a little someone described the 1964 proof half as a Champaign color on Obverse & the reverse side Brilliant . Thanx though

Agree with the above, just a business strike,no proof. I do not notice anything pointing to a DDO in this one. Also, no disrespect, but the color difference between obverse and reverse is not a sign of it being a business strike or proof. The variation in color is just toning developed on the coin over time. They all start the same color. Wouldn't rely on the source you found that info from.
