Hi all,

This nickel has a shinny yellow tone, for me it appears very beautiful. It looks as if it was gold plated.

How may this tone happened, any comments are appreciated

Thanks

Don't believe it was plated. IMHO it was stored quite a while in a Kraft brown 2x2 envelope causing the brownish cast. I have seen many like that in collections I have purchased in the past.

Envelopes and old Harris coin books can cause lots of weird, and sometimes very pretty, toning on coins.

Hi EG

Nice toning on your nickel !

I have seen many colors of toning on the jeffersons , gold ,rose ,black, blue and rainbow .

I also like them toned like that , but then again I also love the looks of a blast white War Nickel !
