came across this 1992 LMC that shows a similar doubling to the 1992-D 1¢ WDDR-002 with tilted ceiling, this one in the upper right 7th bay

Looks more like the die is way over polished. I'll check it again later, but got to head out now.
On the reverse on the Memorial dies there are 4 false columns. What does that mean? They are added to gibe the 3-D appearance of rows of columns behind these 4 rows:

On your coin you are looking at the bay to the left of the false column #3. It looks like when they polishing this die, weaking all the ceiling areas and that edge of that column. Note how it does not rise as high as false column #3? The bays and the fields are the outside part of the die. So when die polishing happens it alter sub devices on the die. (Areas just below the fields near the columns and ceiling. So if your looking at that area for a DDR, then that is not a doubled die. It is a die event where the fields/bay area was reduced a slight amount. This slight amount shows as a raised area reduced by the polishing. That is what I see on your coin.
