Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 11/17/2008 12:47 am There has been no legislation introduced to change the design of the quarter to have the NJ design on it. (Of course there is one way this could be considered correct. When the State Quarters were first authorized the legislation referred to the state design side as the obv. This would make the Washington head side the "rev" of the NJ quarter and since that design will almost certainly be continued next year, you could say the new territory quarters will have the rev of the NJ quarter.) From start through design to finished coin typically takes 18 months. They only have 13 months left and the law hasn't been passed yet. And if they don't get it passed before they recess next month they will have to go all the way back to the beginning, round up co-sponsors, reintroduce the bill etc. once the new Congress convenes in January. Anyways, I would like to see a completely new redesign of the obverse, to the likes of the Nickel with a forward-facing Washington. Flanagan's quarter lost the competition fair and square. But the big-wigs in charge nixed the LGF design because it was done by a woman. IMO it's perfect the way it is.
