I wish they would replace the 32-date quarter with the
LGF quarter that it was supposed to be in 32 to begin with.
It is a gorgeous design and it is about time to make that
travesty of justice right.

There has been no legislation introduced to change the design of the quarter to have the NJ design on it. (Of course there is one way this could be considered correct. When the State Quarters were first authorized the legislation referred to the state design side as the obv. This would make the Washington head side the "rev" of the NJ quarter and since that design will almost certainly be continued next year, you could say the new territory quarters will have the rev of the NJ quarter.)

The House may have, but not the Senate. The National Parks program is not law yet. And they are running out of time. From start through design to finished coin typically takes 18 months. They only have 13 months left and the law hasn't been passed yet. And if they don't get it passed before they recess next month they will have to go all the way back to the beginning, round up co-sponsors, reintroduce the bill etc. once the new Congress convenes in January.

Thanks Conder. I knew it passed at least one of the chambers.

Anyways, I would like to see a completely new redesign of the obverse, to the likes of the Nickel with a forward-facing Washington.

And after they get done with mauling the reverse, they can put a new one with an eagle on it!

I like the commemorative gold coin (1999 GW death bicentennial) that ratio411 listed. It is a beautiful design however I think they should reduce the head a little. It would made for a great quarter

That design was actually the one chosen to be the quarter
in 1932. Flanagan's quarter lost the competition fair and
square. But the big-wigs in charge nixed the LGF design
because it was done by a woman. IMO it's perfect the way
it is. I need to dig up a pic of the reverse. It's awesome
and would make a great quarter.
