Looking at a BU roll and BAM this hit me in the eyeballs There are NO listings of a 1976 D DDR There was only ONE in the roll

I could see why you think it may be a Doubled Die, but my personal opinion is that it's not. Seems a little like MD or a lighting trick.

Looks like Machine Doubling. The example I used as a SBS showed the opposite direction of MD and the overal size of the devices are the same:

Machine Doubling it is.
