This ones caught my eye, it beat out about 30 others from VG-8 through F12. Would appreciate opionions of coins overall grade and reasons PCGS gave it the VG+
IMO the coins a standout example, very nonplussed on the 1875 CC price vs scarcity etc. I just hadn't found a VF35 or XF40 that I felt warranted 600 + bones as of yet. XF40 is my eventual goal and have a feeling the prices on these will go even lower so am lurking.
I admit not having an example was a bee in my bonnet. $225.00 plus $6.00 shipping I lept.Fascinated by the doubledime.

I'd say VG-08/10 is exactly right for this coin. No way close to fine with no letters of Liberty showing.

What's up with the scuffy looking area over her chest?

Quite a typical VG appearance .

Nice one. I agree with @Coinfrog, VG-08 obverse, VG-10 reverse. The blended grade looks spot on, and the price was absolutely spot on. The fields look nice for the grade.

@Pacificoin, I think it got a grade pass on the scuff and scratches. If the technical grade had come in F-12 or higher, I think it would have been detailed.

I'm seeing more AG/G/VG coins grade straight now than five or ten years ago. It's almost like they shrug and say "It's worn, what do you expect?" The converse is true north of EF. The TPGs are getting brutal on some AU coins.

That's just anecdotal, but it's what I've been seeing.

Sounds like an accurate grade to me. I'm with fortcollins; obverse VG-8, reverse VG-10.
