Hey guys, this is not my quarter... a woman where I live posted it on a yard sale Facebook page asking if anyone knew what it may be worth. I told her that it looks like the "K" is indented into the coin and was most likely done after it left the mint. Was I right in telling her this? Or has anyone else ever seen or heard of this?

You are absolutely correct, someone just had fun with a letter punch.

I agree.
A counter stamped coin. The reverse side will probably have a flat, worn area where the reverse has been damaged from the punch as well.
