It looks like the obverse may have been struck with a slightly misaligned die. The reverse is just damaged.

Thanks for the info, I have several in the 1970's with a higher rim on one side.

The 1973 cents had the strongest strikes. I think there were trying to remove the issues that the 1968-1972 cents had with so much Machine Doubling.
