Lighting and focus make it difficult to see the fields clearly.

Would definitely like to see better pics, hard to get a handle on the coin with these.

I agree with the upthread comments. I can't get any feel for this one with the photos.

Per the initial request of CF here's the best I can do using an iPhone shooting through a TPG slab: I'd really like to get it right all the way around with my first attempt in pursuit of the coveted CAC greenie beanie, if advisable. My conflict is that since this coin's particular variety is so rare (only one PCGS-graded sample to find per my first post), would even having that sticker gain me anything more compared to submitting without that sticker?

one last stab at a facial close-up: IMO it appears that left sided horizontal marks from the forehead to the lips are not deep enough to alter the patina: just the surface fungal stuff.

With these better-focused shots I now hope that I also can jumpstart some debate on whether or not CAC submission would be worthwhile endeavor:

I don't have input on the CAC question, but thanks for bringing the two reverse types to my attention. I was not aware of them before. For somebody else digging around for the differences, here they are: http://www.seateddimevarieties.com/...ies.htm#1876

I would give it a less than 50% chance of passing CAC. That is based on images of course, the coin might be a solid 63 in-hand.
