Years ago, I had a tiny Greek? ancient coin that I would like to replace. I lost this years ago and would like another so I will consult the Ancient experts. All I can tell you is that it was silver (AR) and that Medusa was on one side and a Trojan like helmeted head on the other. Like I said, it was less than 1/4" across. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Gorgon-and-Athena coins were issued by quite a few Greek states; the very early coinage of Methymna on the island of Lesbos, Selge in southern Turkey, and an unknown Cilician city are three that come up more than once in a CoinArchives search of those two words.

Sap, thanks so much! Selge was the one! Now, off to look for one.
