What do you make of the double line on the neck, Tie, and down the vest? Just having a deeper look at an old Whitman book I picked up as part of a big purchase.

Looks like Machine Doubling to me. Here is a link to the DDOs for this year/mint for comparison:

Thanks, I had looked them over. I am used to seeing MD on the edges of coins, but I haven't seen it localized towards the center of the coin. I have watched a couple of videos trying to figure out how MD happens so I can stop asking stupid questions...

On the neck there was an enhancement of that area to strengthen it. But that is common.

Here is a link to a thread where I show a Side by side example of Machine Doubling and a strong DDO to help those having issues with MD to help them tell the differences. You might check it out:
