Been waiting for this clip to come up on YouTube for a while. Looking for a sneak peak on some of the new listings and for my own photography to come up. (They used my image of the 2015-P Homestead DDR in the presentation and will likely be using it in the upcoming book).

Bill Fivaz doesn't believe the Homestead DDR is even a DDR, he claims it may be an intentional addition to the die or something like the Wisconsin High/Low leaf varieties. I believe he is the only expert with that opinion. I disagree with him based on the hundreds of other DDRs found for that design that are clearly not intentional and since the doubling is IMO too thin and precise to be done by hand, but it's an interesting theory.

I have gripes with some of the new listings mentioned on the final slide. That "5 on Cheek" dime is such a forced variety. The discoverer found a SMS dime with a tiny die scratch that happens to look like a 5 then posted it on ebay for a ridiculous price. Said discoverer also has a large presence on YouTube so the find got a lot of attention. However, I don't think a single example has sold, but here it is in the CPG now. It's not in the book because the variety has a market, not because it is a type of variety that is collectible, but because the discoverer lobbied for it. I guess its not all that different from the "Superbird" quarter but knowing the story behind it, I'm not too happy with it being included. I can't see these as anything other than a fad that a select few will profit from while the buyers who fell for it lose a yet-to-be-determined amount of money. Curious to see if Fivaz will give that one a reasonable value or if he went along with the lobbying and ebay BIN prices. Also another spitting eagle die clash? I was hoping the first one would be delisted.

Thanks Tanman for the link,

Will see if the 1919 DDO Mercury dime be on the cover as the editor briefly mentioned.
