Very nice 1962 D quarter. I've heard of some going for alot of money. I was wondering if I should have it graded. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

to Community. I agree with seeing a larger images of both sides, there's no way to assess the worthiness and the grade of this coin from this picture, it's just not fair to you.

Willy , it looks like a real nice coin but the photos are still too small . If you can try again , crop the photos so that only the whole coin shows and no background .

When posting larger photos--larger in extent--make sure they are high(er) resolution images; not blow ups of low res photos. Thanks.

Hint - camera phones aren't the best method for coin photos. BTW, a 62-D in MS-65 only retail around $17, less than grading costs.

I was going to say $20 for an MS65 1962-D quarter, but either way it is the same point. Nice uncirculated examples (ungraded) are less than $10. For those ultra-high grades, they are looking at these coins under high magnification for any imperfections. Without a digital microscope or really excellent photos, it is almost impossible for us to guess between a point or two on the grading scale. Even then, it is just an opinion and doesn't mean the grade will actually come back at that.

I appreciate all of your input. Took it to a collector and had him fill me in. I was hoping I had a good one, but I'll keep it seperated and just hold onto it.
