Hey,
I've been looking around a bit, but can't find what actually goes into the collections. Specifically, I'm looking for Canadian and American coins (pennies/nickels/dimes/quarters) with the different mint marks etc.
Does anyone know where lists like this are?
Thanks!

Wait, does the Catalogue of World Coins include all mint marks/variations etc of each coin?

Actually no, but it is a place to start. For American coins, the RedBook is a listing of all US coins and mint marks, not all variations though, but many. For Canadian, don't know, though I have heard the name Charlton concerning Canadian coins. I think it is a catalogue.

Yup, get the Guide book of US coins, by R.S. Yeoman and Charlton. Also, subscribe to Coin World, there is a monthly price magazine that is worth the price of the subscription by itself.

If your just getting started and want to save a few dollars, just go to the PCGS web site, go to their coin listings and price guides. If you have a printer you can print that out. You now have your own list of coins. With such a list you can make your list of just what your interested in and not have a massive amount of listings of coins you may not care about. Of course the Red Book for US coins has lots of info as well though. If you do research on the internet you'll find many listings of coins by types such as the Lincoln Cent Resourse web site or https://www.coppercoins.com Same for Nickels, Dimes, etc. Or you could Google coin shows in your area and just go to one of them and look, look, look. Same with a coin store.

You know that is the type of thing so many people just don't come up with. Just to easy, to simple. Sort of like asking someone what time it is and they tell you how to build a clock. I would have said that but just didn't think.
