Would this be considered a double die with rotation? it appears about 90 degrees of rotation off center, and showing what appears to be a bow tie above Liberty on the rim, as well as the letter T above the year 2000. The reverse is also mildly dented and doesn't sit quite flat.
How would you classify this? DDO for (double die obverse) with rotation of 90 degrees? If not, what would be the nomenclature for it?
I know the pictures are terrible, but it's my first attempt ever to take a picture of a coin. Any opinions/criticisms would be appreciated.
Sorry to say it is just damaged. It is a "vise job", or had another coin squeezed into it. You can see the reversed and incuse lettering by the date, this can only happen from another coin, not the die.
lcutler, Thanks for you input. As much as I thought that might have been a raised "T" I believe you are correct, after closer inspection,it appears to be inclusive. Thanks.
Your coin is a vise job. The correct term is doubled die, double die. A die clash that is rotated is a MAD clash and there is a dedicated website for them. John1
John1 Thanks for your input! Much appreciated. I had no idea as to what it was called. The coin was not showing signs of a vise type of marks on the obverse the MAD clash reference helps a lot. Thank you. Respectfully
