Hi from Korea!

If someone could give me a ballpark figure as to what this coin is worth.

I am in the process of purchasing it but would like to get a little more feedback!

The eagle side is just dirty, as in same condition as the other side.

I'm somewhat suspicious. This is an extremely rare coin in any condition. Price is upwards of 4-5 figures (USD). These were only released for one week and most were melted down by the Japanese.

Do you happen to have the weight, clearer photos as well as the edge?

Welcome to coincommunity by the way.

Yes, I know this is a rare coin. I am 100% sure it is authentic. I also know they make knock-offs.
Why do I think it is the real deal? The guy who has it also has an extensive collection of many Korean coins.
I just wanted to get what this coin might be able to sell for if I buy it at a decent price.

to CCF. Try checking ebay sold values as well as Heratage auctions.

Interesting. I hold my reservation. I think the market would be better off in Korea. These rarely appear out of Korea. Perhaps searching through Hwadong.com records might reveal historical price record. I can't read Korean so it will be hard for me to research.

Most recent sale of the 1902 5 chon XF45 was sold for 5500USD at Hertiage a few months ago. A couple of years back, a full set of this series was sold on ebay for 5-6k each if I recall correctly. (1 chon, 5 chon and 1/2 won).

It seems authentic to me, nothing stands out as fake.
But with Asian coins, you can't be too careful. I wouldn't touch it until it's been certified.
