Just curious,

Tell me the value and identity of the most expensive Canadian Coin in your collection to date. REMEMBER: "whoever has the finest coin in their collection when they die, wins!"

For me, that's simple. I just bought a Canadian 20¢ 1858 off malissadawn, right here on CCF a couple of weeks ago. Paid three times as much for it as I'd paid for any Canadian coin previously.

Most of my Canadian coin collection I acquired from change and from family and friends while I live there briefly in 1983. As far as know, none of this is particularly scarce or valuable.

An 1858 large cent in EF. My dealer got it totally by accident in a bulk deal, so he sold me this $140 coin for only $40.

my 1923 cent in VF-30 is worth about $65.00 per Trends.

Would anyone grade this EF-40? 5 pearls and 8 jewels visible...

Malibu,
This is one of my favorite series, so took a quick look with the help of photoshop...
I think the crown pearl details are a little borderline, so I might grade it as VF35.
With the hit in the field behind KGV and the rim ding on the rev, I would price this as a VF20 if I sold it.--just my opinion.

Dunno about me...I haven't bit on the "big ticket" coins lately.
I do have a 1948 50c in ICCS MS63, and a few other nice coins.
