What is the best way to sell your 40% silver halfs? I sold some on E-Bay and after shipping, a bubble envelope, paypal and e-bay all took their part it did not leave much more than face value of the coins I sold.

I can sympathize. I just ran an auction on 56 different wheats from 1909-40. After ebay fees, paypal fees and priority mail shipping with delivery confirmation, I was negative $1 and change, not even counting the value of the wheats. I can see why many people have fled ebay.

Perhaps you can sell on the forum here?

Its called ebay for a reason :)

I think anyone who has sold stuff on ebay has had this happen a time or two. You can always try here or craigslist seems to be ok.

To cover the fees many sellers on ebay charge more than normal cost for shipping and handling. Doing this also covers any losses for returns. Because most shipping and handling are non refundable. Example: $1 for coin and $3.00 for S&H. I myself refuse to pay that. There are other web stores that will only charge a few dollars for mult.in one purchase. Most I wheat's I have bought where 50cents to $1 in VG+ grade and a quantity of 5-6 coins I only paid $1-2 for S&H.

I can relate.

I sold a folder with about 8 Sacs (some NIFC). After fees and shipping my net proceeds was $7. I should have just spent them

Not surprising as these are still in circulation.
