Spiral scratches on obverse identification. I got a 2020 D Samoa. Can anybody tell me what they are called and possible value. Thank you.

Images of the coin would help ID the issue.

It could be damage from the counting machine when the coin was rolled for banks by a third party.

When the coin is on the end of a roll when being rolled the machine folds in the paper to close the roll it will leave these circular marks you are most likely talking about.

No clue how anyone can identify anything without seeing it...I will go out on a limb and say the scratches are from the coin being scratched...and...second the 25 cent value

Deliberate damage made by someone scratching the coin. no mint error there. Worth 25 cents.
