Hey Guys, I'm new here still, I found this coin in pocket change (hence in pretty bad shape). I'm thinking maybe Machine Doubling? Let me know what you think. Also, is it normal to have Machine Doubling on both sides? Thanks, -GB

Thanks everyone, I'm still learning. Also no offense meant by the "Guy" intro, I tend to address mixed (all gender) audiences that way (maybe I need to rethink that), kinda like saying "hey ya'll" etc... I sincerely Appreciate the insights!

GBiscuitsm, thanks for your kind remarks, no offence taken. I realise I am in a very male heavy field, although there are several other females here too! Again welcome, it's nice to have you in the family!

MD usually appear on the outside edges of one side of the devices. Note the affected area is actually a reduction of the normal size of the devices. On a doubled die, the spread is noticed in the centers of the devices. They appear wider than normal, not smaller than normal: But most of the time on the newer single squeeze doubled dies, the doubling is on the central area of the design, not the outside like the example I posted. So look on the lobes and the entrance on the building for the DDRs for the single squeezed dies: )).jpg) Always keep in mind also to check listed examples of doubled dies on the sites to see what to look for. You will save yourself a lot of time.
