Ladder Serial Numbers And Solid

In a run of 00000001 to 99999999, ladders are more rare than solid serials, so I suspect they would be more valuable.

Some good (thought provoking) question 'erdongdatian.' I believe that the BV (Book Value) of any of these has more to do with popularity than rarity. I cannot speak to US currency but what I've observed with CDN is that solids usually sell much higher (faster) than ladders simply b/c they attract collectors & non collectors. They're just sweet to look at. I've also noticed that often (at least since I've been watching various online markets) a solid radar of a change-over prefix (less common) usually won't sell much higher (if at all higher) than just a regular prefix. I think this is because the note is already so rare that the prefix is deemed irrelevant.

I've also seen some collectors refuse such ladders as 2345678 (or 3456789) but only wish a 1234567 (& don't even care much for descending #'s such as 7654321). Perhaps that is one of the reason they're not as popular as solid radars (which finds most collectors on the same page).

Similarly, 1000000; 2000000; etc (million # notes) don't seem to be as popular (or draw as much attention) as 0000001; 0000002; etc, even though they're pretty darn scarce & hard to find as super low #. I know many collectors who love true ladders (& Ladder/radars such as 7654567) but they're not for everyone. Some collectors could care less about special numbers.
