On the 1997D its by his left hand and on the 1998 is by his right hand. The 97D is listed on Charles Site as 1DR-002, the rest I haven't checked yet. Report this Post to the Staff

I don't have a whole lot to say about their long term potential as collectible or about their value, but they are indeed doubled dies. On coppercoins.com we only list the doubled columns that have doubling at least as long as the distance from the statue's hand to feet. Anything more minor than that is not listed. It's the only way we could control the flood of new listings that would come about. This form of hub doubling is evidently rather common. Report this Post to the Staff

I use the fellowing designations to list them in my itemized collection of varieties. Interesting, but not real rare to find. The larger/stronger ones just jump out at you.
