What on those pictures do you call doubling?

rocks, most of these show an extra piece of column on Lincolns left or right side. On the 1997D its by his left hand and on the 1998 is by his right hand. The 97D is listed on Charles Site as 1DR-002, the rest I haven't checked yet.

OK, I thought you were reffering to the second column to his left and right. I should have known better but O well it does'nt hurt to ask.

After looking at your collection I noticed one when looking through a roll. It looks like it could be some deterioration of the die maybe? This one is a 2001.

Nope, not deterioration. That's actually a doubled die. I don't have a whole lot to say about their long term potential as collectible or about their value, but they are indeed doubled dies.

On coppercoins.com we only list the doubled columns that have doubling at least as long as the distance from the statue's hand to feet. Anything more minor than that is not listed. It's the only way we could control the flood of new listings that would come about. This form of hub doubling is evidently rather common.

I try to list them on my collection by location of the bar. I use the fellowing designations to list them in my itemized collection of varieties. Interesting, but not real rare to find. The larger/stronger ones just jump out at you.
