Hm what an interesting coin. I'm leaning towards a struck through of some kind. I can't tell you what as that isn't my area of expertise, but if you think it's struck through brass, then I'm sure it is. Certainly has the color of brass.
I don't believe it to be a woody however. So my guess is struck through brass with bits of lamination errors.

I say , not a Woodie . Something either scraped coin recently or drops of acid or copper cleaner was accidently dropped on coin . Just an opinion .

Definitely a "struck through" error can be seen in 1st and 4th photos of pieces that had broken off...neat looking cent....

Probably a somewhat unique lamination. The area flaking at the top of the head makes me think of a lamination even though the rest looks more struck through bits of brass.
In the third image, it looks like one long strip going from IN to the cheek and has brass under the copper "color" just above the ear. There also seems to be a speck of brass poking out through the copper where the two sections appear to be separated. That's why I think the brass strips are connected under the copper surface metal.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

imho it is a woody that is starting to delaminate due to such a poor mix. You can see it extend across the rim
