Please see page 131,

Die Axis for 10 cents 1953 to today.
How does one interpret this?
In subsequent pages "to date" is ignored and it contradicts page 131.

which one is it and, what is correct?

Are you sure it says to date?
In previous editions right beneath ..1953 to date, there is a subheading....1953-1964, and a few lines below that Die Axis:(coin axis symbol)(coin axis symbol)
That is an error, as you well know all 1953-1964 10 cents are medal axis.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Title says 1953 to to date
and sorry, yes it does say 1953-1964
and NO I was not aware that this is an error as I am usually not looking at that young stuff.( only if it comes my way and I can identify it as a variety or error)
came by it while checking out Die axis / rotations for sets I have and sort of stumped over it.
It certainly does not speak well for Charlton as this "error" is also in the 2019 book exactly the same. Older books I would have to dig out and check.
Am not sure what kind of excuse Charlton could have for a repeated error.
