2020 Salt River Bay Quarter - Coin Community Forum

KeepTheChange Valued Member United States 358 Posts	Posted 08/20/2020 6:14 pm Pulled directly from a BU roll,this new Salt River bay quarter has some odd discoloring on the obverse. Inhand the surface shows normal luster but displays a greenish rainbow color. I would normally say environmental dmg,but knowing the origin of it has me bumfuzzled.Not sure what would cause this besides maybe the planchet wash they use on the coin...but you would think it would be on both sides. josephm99 Pillar of the Community United States 791 Posts	Posted 08/20/2020 6:43 pm Someone on this forum several years ago did a test where they put a copper cent and a zinc cent in the ground to compare how they decay. I would be interested to see how this coin circulates/decays over time as compared to a normal shiny quarter. Report this Post to the Staff
