I have this low grade AE-16 with a left-facing bust on the obverse and a prancing horse, facing right, on the reverse.

My initial thought it that it is from Macedon, perhaps from the period of Philip III, but there is no lettering above the horse and no rider.

Then I thought perhaps it could be from Carthage with with the bust of Tanit on the obverse.

It is a thick coin weighing 6.74 grams.

Can someone help ID it for me? Thanks!

Here are my photos:

Here is an example of an AE-18 from Carthage with bust of Tanit and a horse along with the VCoins link.

Various descriptors for these issues, including:

"Carthage or Punic mint in Sicily"
"Siculo-Punic"
"Punic Domain"

It is a lower grade Siculo Punic but it's surprising what decent Sicilian bronzes fetch at auction
I would rate it decent enough !
I assume you acquired it at small enough cost

It came as part of an unattributed ancient coin lot that I bid on because it had a couple of Florian antoniniani in it.

From the photo I just assumed this coin was a Philip III from Macedon.

I was about to list it on ebay as such when I had second thoughts about it possibly being from Carthage. Glad I asked.
