Hubs 1,2,3 and below the stairs. When I look at the overlay, it would match up with the eye, chin and front of the vest. Except that it looks farther over than it should be. The reverse of the coin is slightly tilted.

I would agree about it being a clash that has been around a long time but the raised area below the building, below the left planter, is out of place for being part of the bust, unless it was an atypical clash.

That's what I was wondering about. Unless it's tilted enough that its not the eye, but actually the nose?

Best way to check is with an overlay.

The reverse of the coin is slightly tilted. Spence, would you happen to know of a site, where I could get an overlay, so that I could change the degrees to see if any of those match up? Edit - All I have is the normal overlay. Another edit - The rollhunting website is offline, but I should be able to find a way to make my own degree finder.

It looks like die subsidence. I don't think it's a clash.

Hmmm... You mean like the "Goiter neck" ones of the mid 20's? An interesting thought as I don't recall seeing any on a reverse before. The angle is wrong and on the wrong side of the Building to be the nose. Here's a link to the one cent overlays. http://www.maddieclashes.com/one-cent-overlays/ .

Quote: Common that year, and hubs are actually called bays. The first couple times I've posted clashes I was calling them "bays". I think I started calling them "hubs" on accident. Lately, I've been reading a lot about Machine Doubling, push doubling, flat field and of course "hub" doubling. That recurring die subsidence was interesting to read about and that's what it looks like to me also, now that I've seen the pictures for it. Edit - Quote:
The angle is wrong and on the wrong side of the Building to be the nose. I had it right the first time, then I edited my response before posting it. I thought it was directly behind Liberty, but for some reason I changed my mind.
