1941 Nmm Wheat Penny. Can Anyone Tell Me Why We Trut In God? Where's The S?

Apparently we trut in God. Idk who stole my s but I'd love to know if anyone can tell how this happened by looking at it? Does it look like it was made that way or does it just look like damaging? There are other parts that look like a hot butter knife went through some butter. The spot under the "missing s" looks like it might have a half letter printed in the crease? Am I just imagining this? THANKS ALL love ya and have a wonderful day!

Lamination or struck through copper foil or PMD,pic is too small for me to tell for sure.

@lara, with all of the other gouges from circulation on this coin, I'm leaning toward damage that took out the letter S in TRUST. However, that wavy surface texture is very similar to a lamination error as noted by @john1. Here is an enhanced, close-up view:
