It's got a Persian date. 1(2)70, and possibly a regnal year on the side Spence enhance, but I don't recognize it off the top of my head.

Yes maybe @gc (unless it is actually upside down and then the number would be 081 I think). While we wait on the OP for better pics, here is the best I can do with the other side. I wonder what that is inside the inner circle?

It is a base-metal replica of a mid-1800s Ottoman Empire gold coin. The triple-ovals design is quite distinctive of the "Hayriye Altin" coin series. The original coins looked like this.

These replicas were usually used for jewellery purposes, rather than an attempt to actually counterfeit the coinage.

I have been trying to get a clearer picture however forum does not allow my to upload higher definitions
Meanwhile my dad cleaned the coin, not sure if this was a good idea but please see attached
