Not all clips will show a Blakesley effect, if the Blakesley effect is not present you should look for dovetailing, I've noticed smaller clips tend to not show the blakesley effect compared to bigger clips. Here is another rim clip example, with a coin that has larger rims. Note how they dovetail from the fields just beside the clipped portion.
