Question: Do you know what areas the doubled dies are on the single squeeze dies?
The central areas and the area on the ear and the close in motto devices:

Not on the outer devices. On the reverses they central area is the location of the DDR's.

Take a look on the doubleddie.com site to see where on each year/design to look for the DDR's. It will open your eyes on that to look for:
States doubled dies:

ATB Quarter doubled dies:
http://doubleddie.com/719755.html
These will help you see what areas to look for on these doubled dies. Why are they different. The type of the die creation is called a single squeeze die. Only hubbed once. The there is an issue for these class 9 doubled dies. The hub starts out in the incorrect position, makes a kiss on the new die, then snaps into the correct alignment. Usually all area that are affect is on the central areas where the kiss takes place, and the other areas are removed by the full hub process when the die snaps into the correct alignment. So the outer devices are usually not affected, just the central areas. On the MN quarters, there are a lot of DDRs, but not on the areas you are looking at. So take a look at the sites to see where to look for the doubled dies on these quarters.
