Coin Error: Unplated Penny - Coin Community Forum

carolineg New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 09/05/2020 2:56 pm i have this 2006 penny that is silver colored. I think its unplated but not 100% sure. if anyone has some insight on how much a penny like this is worth please let me know. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/05/2020 3:04 pm Are the tops on the reverse devices on USA, showing any split plating? I can't tell from the images. If there is, it is not a non plated cent. But if these areas are free of split plating, then it maybe the real deal. Report this Post to the Staff

I see what looks like a copper color on the reverse,but that could be a reflection. Weight? With both sides missing the copper plating there should be a noticeable weight difference.
