NGC - Coin of the Day: This 1988 Essai 10 Francs celebrates Eugene Adrien Roland Georges Garros, who on this date in 1913 made the first non-stop flight across the Mediterranean Sea from southern France to Tunisia. The French Open tennis tournament is sometimes referred to as Roland-Garros, which is also the name of the Paris stadium (named in his honor) where it is held.
