I looked at the Wexler files and know that the 1960 P and 1962 Proof have many, but is there one that is known to have a lot of DDO or DDR? My understanding is the 1959 LMC D has at least 20 RPMs. Have limited funds, and want to buy rolls with highest likelihood of varieties--or is this not a effective purchasing strategy for this objective?

1960-D for RPMs and 1964 for DDs imo, both have over 100 varieties including a few CPG listed ones.

A lot of the late 1950s - early 1960s dates are good for varieties.

Thank you, an offer was made to me for 565 dollars if I wanted to purchase a sealed Denver 1959 US Mint Bag for 5000 pennies (50 bucks). I can't use the greysheet prices for BU rolls as a benchmark as those are for rolls and not mint bags, is this a good price?

Sounds like a giant ripoff to me. Even BU rolls of far better dates with more interesting varieties (e.g. 1960 D) seem to go for about $2 a roll from what I've seen. This guy wants 11-12x face value? That's a hard pass for me. 1959-D has no good doubled dies and only one or two RPMs worth finding (and even then, good luck selling enough of them to recoup your investment, even if you find enough)

" giant ripoff" is an understatement....don't think I'd pay more than 70-75 dollars...(just me)

Thanks for the feedback. I looked around and one of the unfortunate aspects of a new hobbyist is limited insights and access. Here, I have not found on common auctions sites or other stores online, shops or sellers who sell at wholesale or retail prices for sight unseen bags at the prices mentioned here for BU coins, let alone circulated rolls. If there is a method to sourcing affordable sources, I am all ears, please share or email as I think this is a good lesson for new hobbyist: how limited access to suppliers who price reasonably for coins from decades past, results in prince inflation. At some point, the hobby becomes cost prohibitive.

Check the selling forum of this community. I happened to see one member (not me lol) was selling BU rolls of similar dates for $1.50 a pop plus shipping. I personally prefer to get all my finds in the wild at face value, but I'd say that would be a better place to start if you're looking for BU coins of an earlier date.
