I have a 1944 penny that seems to have a number of errors when I compare it with other in my collection. All of the lettering and numbers on the obverse side seem to be out of rotation clockwise be several degrees. A number of the letters and numbers are seem to be doubled. The lower leg on the 'L' and the 'I' in LIBERTY did no rise properly. Lincoln's bow tie seems to be larger than normal. Lincoln's neck seems to be shorter than in others I have. I would like to see what others think of it. I am new to the forum. I had all of my gold and silver coins stolen a number of years ago. They did not take any of unsorted pennies and nickels so I am now starting to look at them.
with merclover also I'd advise you to check the links in my signature to see what types of errors you should be looking for. Welcome to CCF!! sorry to hear about your collection being stolen.
