Hi all, first post here. I found this 1984 penny stamped with the image of what appears to be a wrapped gift box. I've searched the net but cannot seem to figure out where the gift box image comes from or what it means. Could someone please help me? Thanks!
It does not mean anything. People have counterstamps 1 cent coins with hundreds of different stamps, purely for the fun/ novelty of it. One of our members must have several hundred of them.
The reverse looks to have some glue residue so this was likely attached to something like a card at some point. Interesting but has minimal value if any above face.
