I inherited a set of three coins from 1881, an Indian Head cent, Three Cent Nickel, and a Shield nickel. How do you tell whether they are proof coins or uncirculated? I would be glad to post photos of them. To me, they look stunning enough to be proofs but how does one determine this?

If you are able to post pics of the coins, I would always start with that. You'll get a lot more responses.

Photos please. Proof is not a condition or a grade,it is a totally different minting process.

That would be perfect. Please do so in separate threads so that we can focus on each coin.
