Interesting obverse strike with the rim...pics are a little too dark to see the surfaces. Nice clear details on the devices...no major hits or dings. I'm at F40-XF45 with these pics. smat

Were your photos 'masked' to show the area outside the coin as black? That may account for the interesting look of the rim.

I'm in the AU55 group on this one. the lighting is not that great but the mottled hues on the fields indicate a possible cleaning. this one may not grade straight

What's holding it back. The plain 1909 had some issues that I agree keeps it at 63 but I'm not seeing much on this VDB.
Is it just nicks and dings?
How high can browns go?
