At this point I'm even rethinking why I wanted these coins in the first place. I don't like slabbed coins. I bought all the Eisenhower dollars in 1971 in their presentation cases and they are the least favorite of all my coins. I really don't like proof sets either. So, these Morgan and Peace dollars all come in a special presentation cases. It's not like you can put them in your Morgan or Peace albums without using a hammer and screwdriver to get at them. So, just sayin. The reasons I personally desired these coins in the first place are fading quickly.

EDM, They're in capsules. You can easily open the capsule and take them out. It's no big deal.

Ah, good to know. Thanks. The description made it sound like they were in a very large "slab". These look OK.

Glad some of y'all are getting second-chance Morgans.

For those that got both Morgan products - did you do it all in one order, or did you have two separate orders? I am trying to figure out my approach for next Tuesday.

One order. Logged in, went to product schedule and scrolled down to the Morgans, made a duplicate tab, Clicked one tab for the 'O' and one for the 'CC'. stayed on one tab until the 'add to bag' showed up, clicked it, went on to next tab, refreshed and clicked 'add to bag' Tried to check out 500 times and finally got it all done.

My experience almost exactly, with lots of cursing and blood pressure elevation.

Yes, the typical capsules that ASEs and other PM coins ship in are easily openable with a fingernail or pocket knife edge.

In my case I logged onto the my Mint account about an hour before, checked all my billing information and pre-loaded my credit card info. I went to the product page where it said, "remind me". Then, about 11:59 I started refreshing. About 15 seconds before 12noon it refreshed to being able to order. I added 2 cc to my shopping cart, placed the order, and hit the finalization button. It "timed" for about 15 seconds and then I was kicked completely out of my account. I had to sign back in, go to the product page, order 2 more, complete all the billing and shipping info, went to final order placement and Bang, kicked completely out of my account. I tried once more and was notified that none of the coins were available. That was about 12:15.

I had to enter the billing info during each of my 12-15 attempts as well. What is the point of having PayPal or a credit card saved to your account? Is it only for enrollments now? I've been unable to use the saved data for the last three purchases.

The full amount was charged to my credit card and is still there. Perhaps some banks take longer to refund - or they're charging some cards up front. Either way is OK with me as long as the transaction is completed.

Regarding PayPal and saved credit card, it appears something happens to the database tables that contains this data during highly anticipated releases where website volume is higher. My solution is to open notepad and put my credit card number in the clipboard so you can paste it in quickly and memorize your expiration and CVV code.

Yes, but it still takes time when the Mint website locks up and just times and repeatedly kicks you out. I'm bothered by the fact that people were still able to place their order successfully even after the Mint website said the coins were unavailable. It sounds like people were able to order during a window of about half an hour, but I got the "unavailable" message by about 12:15.

One thing I have found out that instead of going thru one tab at a time, once you get them in the cart, you open the shopping cart in a new tab. That way a few of the 10 or so new tabs will load and then you keep completing the checkout process until one of them goes thru.

What annoys me about PayPal not being available besides the checkout speed is my credit card is 2% cash back except for the US Mint which they consider a cash transaction. If I use the card through PayPal I get the 2% cash back. With the straight credit card purchase I don't.

Agree with above. The key is having the same things open in multiple tabs to try again quickly once it fails

For those who got em today, did you notice if the anticipated ship date said June or October? I was too excited they were available and checked out without paying attention.

I got one today but did not pay attention. I will assume October and let them surprise me if it's June.
