Quote:From the US Mint email: Quote: Quote: ...the reality is such that not everyone will be able to purchase a coin. Okay, and now... P A N I C ! Does this mean the CC and O Privy mark coins won't be shipped to everyone that did manage to purchase one? Or does this mean that the remaining coins production numbers will be lower? This is crazy. I think it means exactly what they said "not everyone will be able to purchase a coin."And that means nothing, they have 175K coins, many more people want one. WE are all not going to get one. Not everyone got a V75, or an S-ERP. Its why we all want one, there is an upside potential.

Well the mint just confirmed the shortage with that statement This allocation/Wait into October was a big red flag anyway I seriously wonder how many people paid for a Pre-order on ebay not not realizing the long wait I bet many people will get scammed

Quote: Given that they know this, why would then not change the household order limit to 1 or 2? Reality is that many more people would have been able to get the silver dollars if they had a lower limit. Quote: If they could do something like allowing anyone who has had a mint account for over 1 year and / or has purchased an item from the mint in the last 5 years to enroll / reserve ONE coin of each variety / mint / privy, they could better ensure that real collectors get an opportunity to obtain these. Most of us know that both of these are good ideas which means they probably will not be implemented...you know, Government work. Here's another potential solution: Since the orders have not been fulfilled at this time, the Mint maybe should consider reducing/limiting existing orders to 1 (or 2) each of the CC and O issues. (This is essentially making the Household Limit retroactive.) That way, everyone who successfully ordered will still get them and it would free up additional coins for other collectors.

I'm not entirely sure that this is unwanted by the Mint. Does anyone seriously think that the Mint is UNAWARE of a perceived silver shortage and high demand?

Also if demand is so High
Then the Mint should just let the market decide by cutting out the mintage
Set up a limt of three per household
And have a week grace period to buy item

I remember when this was 'said' after the V75 ASE... What happened is that they did a captcha for the V75 Medal/Gold coin and that turned out worse... Well I had both V75 AGE and the V75 Gold coin in my cart and was not able to get it. Either way I hope they either fix it to only allow humans to use their site or limit the HH to 1 or 2 that first day (then bump it up slowly to no HH limit). I looked at the mints announcement of Facebook and alot of people are saying they want the lottery system to come out which I am not for.

How about giving people that are in the loyalty program (or were last year) first crack. That way they reward the people that were actually buying their products regularly instead of the scalpers.

I hope they change it so if you get the item in your cart you get a clear path to check out for like a minute or so. This, better bot prevention and HHL of 1 for first 24 hours are my Two Cents. Not a fan of increasing the mintages.

+1 Wyzeguy - if in your cart, the inventory should be reserved for a few minutes to complete checkout. Something like how Ticketmaster gives you a timer to complete the transaction.

I would love if they would use the loyalty program to give pre-preorder window (limited to 1) to repeat US Mint customers. Also if the inventory is in your cart you should be able to complete the transaction!

There is no good way to sell 175000 coins to 300000 buyers. The winners will always be happy and the losers will always be sore. They can't just make more. No one wants to see the day when mint purchases lose money as soon as they are purchased.

Quote: Wyzeguy, did they mention that they will change mintage? No not in this email. Was just giving my thought with what some have said, on this and other releases, about increasing the mintage or minting to demand.

I had gotten that E-mail as well... I wish that the folks that got the E-mil would get the first bite to get the coins, as it proves our 'loyalty'? to the mint.

I understand that It's just a matter of supply and demand and that the statement doesn't change anything. My fear was that they could be cutting the amount of coins to be minted and might even have to cancel some of the coins that have already been ordered. I was able to get a 2019-S ERP, missed out on the V75 Privy mark coins because of the website crashes, and got one each of the CC and O 2021 Morgans. The S-ERP and the CC & O coin orders errored out every time I tried. I didn't know I had succeeded in ordering until I got an email popup on my screen with my order acknowledgement. I hope a change in the order software helps make it clear when you do succeed in ordering!
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!
