So they are saying they dont have enough silver?
Pretty much.

U.S. Mint Boxed in by Legislation

Quote:
Effectively, the U.S. Mint is prevented from complying with one statutory requirement to produce gold and silver American Eagles sufficient to meet public demand by another statutory requirement that prohibits it from paying a price higher than the paper market spot price.
In other words, if they could, they would buy the silver available at the higher prices and charge us $100 instead of $85.

Perhaps the US Mint should have a word with The Royal Mint in South Wales - they seem to have enough silver to churn out unnecessary Proof versions of dozens of commemorative 50p and £5 coins!

Most recently in the pre-order window for 2021 Morgan dollar with Carson City privy mark (21XC) and New Orleans privy mark (21XD), the extraordinary volume of web traffic caused significant numbers of Mint customers to experience website anomalies that resulted in their inability to complete transactions.

Just adding. I think the best way to handle that is only release available date, and not a time. Let them pick there time. Say 9:45 or 2:13. And not tell anyone, That way there's not an onslaught
of a million people trying to buy coins at 12:00

Seriously? So you want the BOT that is checking the website every sevond to get the coins? What are we (the average collector) supposed to do take the day off so we can get the coin? By the time the remind me email or text comes the coins are sold out.

Sometimes I question the logic of a post.

+1

They should prioritize the ordering times of customers based on order history and error on the side of caution when it comes to setting household limits. The more you buy the better your odds of getting something. This would put most of the flippers towards the end of the list.

They still have not scheduled a date for the release of the Bush Jr. 2020 Coin and Chronicles Set.

I think you mean Bush Sr. Jr. isn't quite ready for a coin yet and he's probably not in too much of a hurry to qualify.

@Bret (how do I quote lol) not that the silver shortage is actually a reality, but there are silver medals in the George W Bush C&C set that may not have been minted yet.

Just got an email from the Mint... "Clarification Regarding Silver Supply"

Quote:
In a message released Friday, May 28, we made reference to a global shortage of silver. In more precise terms, the silver shortage being experienced by the United States Mint pertains only to the supply of silver blanks among suppliers to the U.S. Mint.
